About the African SAP User Group:

The African SAP User Group (AFSUG) serves as the voice of the SAP Customer and Partner community, providing a platform for customers and partners to exchange stories of shared interest. This collaborative environment is conducive to influencing and fostering cooperation within the community.

It’s important to note that AFSUG is the sole user group in Africa dedicated to representing SAP users, and it operates independently of SAP as a non-profit organisation. The organization is overseen by a board of Customer CIOs who generously volunteer their time.

In addition to hosting Special Interest Group Meetings, AFSUG also conducts a variety of webinars featuring speakers from both global and local backgrounds. One of our notable events is the biennial conference SAPHILA conference.

Are We Affiliated To SAP?

AFSUG is an independent non-profit organisation, functioning as a User Group entity that operates and administers its services for the betterment of its member community. While AFSUG maintains a close working relationship with SAP, it steadfastly maintains its independence as a non-profit organization. Our sole purpose is to cater to the needs of our members. AFSUG stands as a completely autonomous voice advocating for the SAP user community, addressing their issues and concerns. We have the capability and willingness to communicate these concerns directly to SAP’s senior management. AFSUG is governed by a board of Customer CIOs who volunteer their time for this cause.

What is a SIG?

Special Interest Group (or SIG), is a dedicated forum that hones in on specific areas within the vast landscape of SAP specialist areas. With 9 special interest areas and Strategic areas covered and multiple meetings conducted annually, you can find more information on our SIG page.

Many of our Special Interest Groups maintain regular communication with senior SAP Executives. In fact, we pride ourselves on having at least one SAP representative on each of our SIGs. This presence makes the SIGs an excellent platform for direct engagement and feedback.

These representatives consist of volunteers from SAP, customers, and partners who join AFSUG and generously contribute their time to serve on a Special Interest Group Committee. Their collective efforts ensure that the most pressing topics within industries are effectively addressed and discussed.
