Driving Trust in Financial Data for SAP Business One Users

On 08 th July, AFSUG Members joined an engaging virtual session titled “Data You Can
Trust: Transforming Finance with SAP Business One and ZAP Data Hub.”

The session, led by Alexi Yannoulatos, Territory Manager for Africa at ZAP, explored how
SAP Business One customers can modernise financial reporting and decision-making
through better data practices and embedded automation.

SAP Business One continues to serve as the trusted ERP foundation for many small and
mid-sized enterprises across Africa.

However, evolving reporting requirements and increasing data complexity demand more
than static spreadsheets and manual processes.

This session provided valuable insight into how SAP users can leverage modern analytics
tools to unlock greater efficiency, control and data integrity.

Key Learnings from the Session:

Seamless Integration with SAP Business One
The ZAP Data Hub complements SAP Business One with a prebuilt data warehouse,
enabling users to access unified and reliable financial data—without custom development.

Finance-Centric Analytics
Tailored dashboards and reporting templates streamline decision-making for finance leaders,
from CFOs to controllers and analysts, within the SAP environment.

Enhanced Governance and Compliance
With built-in access controls and data lineage, SAP Business One users can maintain strong
governance across reporting workflows.

Data Consolidation from Multiple Sources
For businesses managing data in Excel, legacy systems or across multiple entities, the
session demonstrated how consolidation can be streamlined—supporting SAP Business
One’s vision of integrated business processes.

Automated Reporting
The automation capabilities shown align with SAP’s focus on freeing users from repetitive
tasks, ensuring timely and accurate insights across the Organisation.

The presentation also introduced future-facing functionality, including the use of AI within the
ZAP platform. Tools like “Zappy” offer conversational assistance to help users generate
reports and access financial insights more intuitively—supporting SAP’s broader strategy
around embedded intelligence.

This session highlighted the potential for SAP Business One users to evolve their financial
data practices through trusted third-party solutions, while staying aligned with SAP’s
principles of integration, governance and innovation.
