Volunteer Opportunities
AFSUG offers members the opportunity to grow as leaders, expand their professional skills, and actively contribute to the SAP community. Whether engaging through social platforms, supporting events, or participating in committees and Special Interest Groups (SIGs), volunteering provides a platform to collaborate with peers, share knowledge, and help shape meaningful industry conversations.
Volunteering with AFSUG also supports your personal and professional development. From organising and facilitating events to selecting relevant topics and speaking at sessions – including SAPHILA – you gain valuable experience and visibility. As a SIG champion, you can share your SAP journey, lead discussions, and contribute to building a stronger, more connected SAP ecosystem.
Chapters
AFSUG Chapters bring our community to life across South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana – creating spaces for local connection, conversation, and collaboration.
Through webcasts, online sessions, forums, roundtables, and in-person events, Chapters enable members to engage directly, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships across the SAP ecosystem.
Membership Criteria for Companies
To ensure the integrity and value of the AFSUG community, organisations applying for membership are required to meet the following criteria.
Registered Legal Entity
The organisation must be a legally registered entity within a SADC country. Proof of registration (e.g. company registration certificate or business license) is required.
International organisations must have an established and registered local entity within the SADC region to qualify.
SAP-Related Business Activity
Applicants must demonstrate active involvement in SAP-related services, solutions, or products.This includes providing relevant details of SAP-related activities within the SADC region.
Operational Presence in SADC
The organisation must have a tangible operational presence within a SADC country, such as an office, employees, or active business operations.
A virtual presence alone will not be considered sufficient.
Alignment to AFSUG Values & Code of Conduct
Members are expected to align with AFSUG’s mission of supporting and strengthening the SAP user community across Africa.
All members must adhere to ethical business practices and comply with AFSUG’s membership guidelines and code of conduct.
Membership Fees & Compliance
All members are required to pay the applicable annual membership fees and remain in good standing with AFSUG.
